There are two sides to every city. Explore them both with Tenth Key’s new music+art NFT releases, City Morning and City Evening. Both collections feature original instrumental music and AI art created with Midjourney, including three unique 1/1 AI art pieces for each track.
Background
City Morning began as an experiment: How many instances of the Moog Model D synthesizer app could I use in Beatmaker 3 before the iPad CPU maxed out? The answer was only two, so I upgraded the iPad. Then my focus changed from using only one synth app to using as many different synth apps as I could. In addition to the Model D, City Morning features Continua, Kauldron, Redshrike, Sunrizer, and Zeeon. City Evening is a house remix of City Morning that adds the Animoog and Mersenne synths to the mix. Gear Acquisition Syndrome isn’t that big a problem when you can get amazing synthesizers for $10 a pop.
Theme
City Morning is the sound of the hustle and bustle of a city starting its day. Everyone’s rushing to catch their buses and trains, jumping into their cars to fight rush hour traffic, crowding the sidewalks on their way to get their coffees and bagels, and preparing for another busy day on the job.
City Evening is the sound of the same place, but with a very different vibe. The sun has gone down, street lights and neon signs light up the night and create a more relaxed and sometimes hypnotic atmosphere. The people at the bars and restaurants and dance clubs have come out to shake off their workday trouble and enjoy themselves. Good times can be found beneath those city lights, and you’re invited to join in.
Where to find City Suite NFTs
21 editions each for City Morning and City Evening have been minted. Editions that were not minted during the initial release period are now available to purchase on OpenSea, here and here. Each NFT contains the song and original artwork created on the A.I. art tool Midjourney. 3 editions of each track will feature unique 1/1 art not available elsewhere.
All holders will receive whitelist access and discounts on future drops by Tenth Key, plus access to downloadable MP3 files of both tracks. Holders of the unique editions will also receive free mints on future Tenth Key NFT drops.
